Undergraduate Students
A key facet of the BOL training experience at Cornell is one-on-one research mentorship of undergraduate students. Working as a BOL research assistant can provide a strong hands-on introduction to the field of clinical psychology and be excellent preparation for graduate school or careers in industry.

You should be interested in good outcomes after mental health problems.
To be successful as an RAs, you should be mature, hard -working, and persistent.
Previous research experience, while desirable, is not necessary.

Undergraduate students will work as research assistants for designated lab projects under the supervision of Dr. Rottenberg
Responsibilities can include attending weekly research meetings and gaining extensive training into the ethical conduct of research.
Tasks may include…
Running psychological experiments or clinical studies
Scheduling and running participants
Training on clinical assessment
Screening study participants
Entering, coding, or analyzing data
Behavioral coding
Performing literature searches
Maintaining lab equipment
Contacting recruitment sites
Creating content for the lab’s social media

Weekly commitment
typically RAs will commit 9 hours a week
Most RAs enroll for credit; it may be possible to work in the lab as a volunteer.
We are especially interested in students who can commit to the lab for multiple semesters.
